This complete kit combines a 2-litre charred American white oak aging barrel with Jamaican Dark Rum Essence and the accessories you need to start aging at home. The small barrel provides greater wood-to-spirit contact, allowing you to develop oak, vanilla, caramel and spice characteristics in weeks rather than years.

How It Works

First, cure your barrel according to the included instructions. Once cured, add your spirit and Jamaican Dark Rum Essence and allow the charred American white oak to do the rest.

For a 2L barrel, we recommend approximately 4–6 weeks for the first batch, tasting periodically until you reach your preferred flavour profile.

Once it hits your sweet spot, bottle it, refill your barrel and start experimenting with your next batch.

Our Jamaican Dark Rum Essence is an easy way to add rich rum character to your favourite spirit. Mix it with a neutral spirit such as vodka or moonshine, enhance an existing rum, or experiment with your own custom blend before allowing the American white oak barrel to develop additional depth and complexity.

The essence is made from concentrated flavorings and contains no alcohol.

The included 2-litre American white oak barrel features a charred interior that interacts directly with your spirit as it ages. The oak can develop notes of vanilla, caramelized sugars, toasted wood, spice and tannins while creating a flavor profile that's uniquely yours.

For a new 2L barrel, we recommend approximately 4–6 weeks for the first batch, tasting periodically and bottling once you've reached your preferred flavor profile.
