Urban Barrel Company was built from more than 20 years of hands-on experience in bars, restaurants, cocktail development and live events. Founder Jeff Roberts launched Urban Barchef in 2012, creating original cocktail programs for hospitality businesses, weddings, sporting events and private celebrations, while collaborating on cocktail projects with respected names including Forty Creek and Campari.
That experience exposed a simple problem: too many people were sold a barrel without being taught how to cure it, fill it, monitor it or get the best flavour from it. Urban Barrel Company was created to change that. We do more than sell barrels—we provide the products, recipes, guidance and support needed to age spirits and cocktails with confidence.
Our small-format aging barrels are crafted from kiln-dried American white oak and feature a distillery-style char. Their higher wood-to-spirit ratio can develop noticeable oak, vanilla, caramel, spice and toasted flavours in weeks or months. The right aging time depends on barrel size, batch number, spirit and personal taste, so we teach customers to taste throughout the process and bottle when the flavour is right.
From our standard Oak Aging Barrels to our premium Gator Barrels, each barrel is selected for craftsmanship, performance and freshness. Sizes from 1L to 20L are available for whiskey, bourbon, rum, tequila, scotch, wine and barrel-safe cocktail bases. Custom engraving transforms each barrel into a one-of-a-kind gift, corporate piece or personal aging project.
