The 10 Litre American Oak Aging Barrel is the scale-up barrel for someone who has already learned the process and perfected a batch worth repeating. Handcrafted from American white oak with a medium char, it gives home enthusiasts and bar programs enough volume to move beyond experimentation and begin creating finished bottled batches.

10L — The Bottling Barrel

This size is not just for bars and restaurants. It is for anyone who has a proven whiskey finish, spirit blend or barrel-aged cocktail recipe and wants to turn that recipe into a personal bottle program.

Age the batch, then bottle it, label it, date it and wax it. Build a shelf of your own finished releases at home, create bottles for friends or special occasions, or establish a repeatable signature batch behind the bar.

A 10L fill represents about 13 standard 750 mL bottles before tasting and normal barrel loss. In practice, plan on roughly 10–13 bottles depending on sampling and evaporation.

From the Barrel to the Bottle

The 10L is where barrel aging starts to become a system rather than a one-off experiment. Once you know your flavour target, you can track the batch, remove it at the right point, package the finished liquid and begin building an organized inventory.

Urban Barrel has used this same concept in a working bar environment: age a controlled batch, bottle it, label and date it, then finish the bottles with wax so the program can be repeated and inventoried.

Recommended First-Batch Aging

A typical first batch is approximately 3½ months. Taste periodically and bottle when the batch reaches your preferred balance of oak, sweetness, spice and char.

Before Your First Fill

Cure the barrel before filling, keep it full during aging, protect it from direct heat and sunlight, and taste regularly.
