Metal Threaded Spigot Installation Guide

Tools Required

• 9/16” wrench

• Clean cloth or towel

Installation Instructions

Align the metal spigot with the pre-drilled hole. Hand-thread the spigot clockwise until it stops naturally. Do not use tools at this stage.

Using a 9/16” wrench, tighten the spigot one firm, controlled turn until snug

STOP tightening immediately once snug. Do not force the spigot further.

Critical Warnings (Read Carefully)

  • Do NOT overtighten the spigot.
  • Overtightening can crack the barrel head, strip threads, and cause leaks.
  • One wrench turn only. More force will damage the barrel..

Important Notes

  • Wood expands naturally when wet, improving the seal over time.
  • If a minor drip appears after filling, do NOT tighten further.
  • Allow 24–48 hours for the barrel to swell and self-seal.
